With over 33 years experience
in the provision of tertiary education focusing on quality
teaching, Central Queensland University is committed to the
success of our students, and to providing a flexible and
supportive environment in which to study.
Small Class Size
We carefully manage our class sizes to provide quality
teaching and to facilitate: - interaction between lecturers and students
- interaction between students
- the provision of personal attention to each student
- our lecturers' ability to identify and support students
who require extra help
Leading Edge Technology
CQU understands the importance of technology in education;
Melbourne International Campus has maintained an excellent
computer to student ratio of 1 to 5.
All CQU students have an email account and access to the
Internet with unlimited downloads. In addition, all course
and library materials are available online 24 hours a day
around the world. This caters to the different study styles
and our students needs.
Flexibility CQU academic calendar has been organised around three
terms each year: March to June (Term 1),
July to October (Term 2) and
November to February (Term 3).
Students can commence or continue their studies over Spring
and Summer, i.e., Term 3. The three entry points facilitate
a fast-track option, which enable the students to complete
their degree faster. This can help students to save money
and time, and start them off sooner on their careers.
Students considering studying while travelling or relocating
due to work commitment within Australia can do so with
inter-campus transfers between our Melbourne, Sydney,
Brisbane and Gold Coast International Campuses. These
transfers, while giving students more choices in attaining a
balanced study-to-work commitment, will be seamless and will
not in any way interrupt student academic progression.
Students will still be able to take on the fast-track option
at any of our campuses to finish their degrees sooner.
High Employment Prospects
CQU courses have been designed to incorporate industrial
recognition and instil entrepreneurial qualities among our
graduates. To achieve this, all CQU program designs are
industry-driven with practical up-to-date content. Programs
are taught by academics with extensive industrial experience
who are culturally sensitive to international students'
needs. Our multi-cultural classroom environment provides
preparation for a global economy and prepares our graduates
for key positions worldwide. The university has been very
successful in ensuring its courses are up-to-date with
industrial demand and has, for the last three years, topped
the Australian University Graduate Employment with 5% over
the national average.
Extensive Recognition of previous learning
CQU recognises your previous studies with other institutions.
For Undergraduate students CQU who have completed approved Diploma level studies, up to eight courses can be granted as exemptions (credits) into your CQU degree. Students who have completed approved prior study at Advanced Diploma level can receive up to 12 courses as exemptions, effectively halving the length of your CQU program.
In certain circumstances students who have completed previous degree level study may be eligible for up to 16 exemptions into their CQU Bachelor Degree program.
Students commencing Postgraduate study at CQU who have undertaken previous Postgraduate study may be eligible for exemptions of up to half their program. (For example up to six courses of a 12 course Masters Degree.)
Credit can be granted both for study completed in Australia and study completed overseas at a recognised institution.
